Ambiguity Echo: A Generative Exploration of Light, Flow, and Depth "Ambiguity Echo" is a generative art project that captures the tension between structure and dissolution, where curved forms emerge from an underlying logic yet remain in constant flux. Flowing geometries weave through the composition, creating a sense of controlled motion within a sculptural field of depth and light. Generative Process & Geometry Formation The system constructs its intricate layering through a procedural geometry pipeline within WebGL, using a combination of flow-driven vector displacement and distance field techniques. The geometry is shaped dynamically by evolving flow fields, influencing the curvature and spatial distribution of the forms. These fields guide the sweeping arcs and layered structures, giving the composition an organic yet computationally precise quality. Using signed distance fields (SDFs) and ray marching, the system sculpts smooth, flowing surfaces while maintaining precise depth variations. Each iteration subtly shifts the density and curvature, producing a continuous yet unpredictable evolution of form. The interplay of turbulent flow distortions and structured repetition generates a rhythm of controlled emergence and decay. In 3D modelling world, this technique is called 'Heightmap Elevation'. A heightmap is a grayscale texture where the brightness of each pixel represents its height (relative to its surface). Light, Shadow, and Mesh Depth The rendering phase employs path tracing to simulate global illumination, ambient occlusion, and soft shadows, enhancing the stone-shaped presence of the forms. Light interacts dynamically with the plaster-like surfaces, scattering subtly across the curved geometries, reinforcing the contrast between solid structure and transient motion. Dynamism & Evolution As the flow fields evolve, the spatial organization of elements shifts, creating variations in density, color, noise type, and curvature over time. The generative algorithm ensures that while the visual identity remains cohesive, no two compositions are identical. The system responds to its own internal logic, allowing the structures to form, dissolve, and reconfigure in an ongoing cycle of transformation. By integrating real-time WebGL rendering with procedural form generation, "Ambiguity Echo" becomes an ever-changing landscape of form, motion, and abstraction, where clarity blinks and is never fully resolved.
