Final Forms is a minimalist generative art project, drawing inspiration from as far back as Armin Hofmann’s Graphic Design Manual. Final Forms is a minimalist generative art project, drawing inspiration from as far back as Armin Hofmann’s Graphic Design Manual. The collection uses four core colours – red, green, blue, yellow, as well as black & white. At first glance, the outputs may appear deceptively simple. However, a deeper exploration will reveal the potential of the collection.
While each piece can stand on its own, the design also invites the urge to collect and combine multiple works. The pieces are created to work together, forming striking gallery wall combinations. With this in mind, another key aspect of the design was ensuring the artwork could translate well into physical print if desired.
The generative code is securely stored on the Ethereum main net blockchain. Thanks to 256art's commitment to on-chain integrity, every aspect of the metadata is generated from within solidity and then lives entirely on-chain. This means there are no external dependencies required to recall the artwork or its metadata, as everything can be accessed directly from the blockchain.
This is my second long-form generative art collection, following my debut collection rect(), released earlier in 2024.
Final Forms is created using the p5.js library, driven by a unique random seed assigned when each token is minted. The artwork is brought to life through a series of random choices, all made in a fraction of a second. Including: the background colour, grid size, peg sizes and details, path style, and more. The combination of these random choices, all tied to the initial seed, results in the final piece of art.
The collection consists of 400 pieces. There will be an initial 24-hour Allowlist, followed by public mint, with a fixed mint price of 0.03.
I hope you enjoy the outputs as much as I have been able to so far!
