STORY

Volatile Moods is a generative artist, musician, creative coder, and scientist whose work connects logic and intuition through code. Active in the Web3 generative art scene since 2021, he creates algorithmic systems that generate abstract visual worlds—ranging from colorful compositions to restrained monochrome studies—where structure, texture, and rhythm echo the processes of drawing. Now in his mid-40s, he first became interested in computers and music in early childhood, learning to code and to play guitar as parallel passions. For many years, his love for art and coding evolved on separate paths, each shaping the way he thinks about structure, rhythm, and form. His professional path followed technology, leading him to complete a PhD and work in academic research as well as in software development. Yet his creative drive remained, quietly evolving alongside his technical work. In 2021, the rise of NFTs and the generative art movement on blockchain platforms opened a new chapter. It allowed him to unite his experience in coding with his artistic sensibility and to connect with a community exploring similar ideas. Since then, Volatile Moods has developed a distinct voice within generative art, known for works that combine precision with expressiveness. His most recognized pieces—Slumbers, Rough Cuts, and Undercurrent—were released on the Tezos and Ethereum blockchains.
